Pamela Hopkins is a Country singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who is from Little Rock, Arkansas. Hopkins was drawn to music at a young age and her experience definitely shows in the music that she creates. We have previously covered this artist’s track, “Little Things”, which she performed with Matt Dame and today we take a listen to another solid single from Pamela Hopkins, “Givin' A Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit)”.
“Givin' A Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit)” is an unapologetic track with a great deal of spunk and attitude. Catchy and authentic, this track showcases Hopkins’ happiness with the way that she lives her life and the track serves to tell others that she does not care at all about what they think. At one point during the song, Hopkins even calls out some who may judge her as hypocrites, mentioning that they may judge her for skipping church on Sundays but they were getting wasted watching her perform on Saturday night; this part of the song gives it a realness that I strongly appreciate and I enjoy the way in which Hopkins presented these lines.
Through “Givin' A Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit)”, we get a great feel for who Pamela Hopkins is as a person as well as who she is as a songwriter, something I am glad we were able to experience through this track.
