Richard Lynch - Grandpappy

Richard Lynch is an American country music artist from Waynesville, Ohio. A musician for over three decades, Lynch has the experience - and the sound - to effortlessly bring a smile to your face. Previously we have covered two of Richard Lynch’s tracks, “Rodeo Town” and “Hurtin’ Cheatin’ Lyin’ Country Song” and today we take a look at another of his songs, “Grandpappy”.

An upbeat and up-tempo Country track, “Grandpappy” features Lynch’s storytelling style in the lyrics as he sings about his titular “grandpappy”, his memories of the man and how he had an influence on Lynch’s life. Lynch’s singing performance is exceptional and you can really hear all of his years of experience at work through the track’s melody and instrumental work. As the track closes out, Lynch has a brief spoken-word portion where he says “my kind of people, Eastern Kentucky folks, down home” and something about ending the song in such an authentic way really stuck with me.

What I enjoy most about Richard Lynch is how iconic his sound is; he turns in the kind of performances that you would expect from a Country legend and he seamlessly blends the sounds of Country past and present. You should take a look at Richard Lynch on his Twitter, Facebook and Reverbnation pages if you want to learn more about this seasoned artist. As always we have “Grandpappy” embedded below!
