Ronda Ray - Tiger Lily Girl
Ronda Ray is an award-winning independent Rock artist based in Los Angeles, California. Drawing comparisons to legends like Lita Ford and Joan Jett, Ray’s talent has been on display since her debut EP dropped in August of 2020. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Ronda Ray’s upcoming single, “Tiger Lily Girl”, as well as our interview with this talented artist!
Coming in at two minutes and forty seconds, “Tiger Lily Girl” is a hard rocking song with some strong Southern roots on display. Indeed, the instrumental will undoubtedly get you p and moving while perfectly setting the stage for Ronda Ray’s lyrics and vocals. On that note, Ray’s lyrics are fun and straightforward, making the song’s true meaning befit the title perfectly; her vocals are powerful and show-stealing as well, effortlessly bringing the song to life with a high octane approach. This song really comes as-advertised and I feel like it gives us a great feel for who Ronda Ray is as a person and music artist.

When did you know you wanted to be a singer songwriter?
Music was my first love in life. When I was a little kid I put on lots of living room concerts on my toy box stage. But as I grew up, I never dreamed of actually being a professional artist. Songwriting was definitely a calling. It called to me later on in life. I began to have an overwhelming urge to write that I couldn’t escape. I allowed myself to write poems first. I just couldn’t wrap my head around myself as a real songwriter. Then, in 2012, I took a trip to Austin, Texas. I went to the Saxon Pub and had a life changing experience. It was a catalyst for me. I wrote three songs and the songwriting floodgates were open.
What is your goal to accomplish?
I love the magic of live, full band, rock shows. I want to tour the world with my band, lifting people up everywhere we go, making them glad they got out of the house, ready to face the next day and excited for the next time they get to see us. I also want to show people they can live their dream.
What to you means that you have succeeded?
I believe that success is the pursuit of a worthwhile goal. So many people never even begin to pursue their passion or dream. As long as I’m writing, recording and releasing music and touring with my band, creating magical experiences for our fans and friends, and everyone is paid well, I call that a big success.
What is next for Ronda Ray?
I have a brand new single out January 8 called, “Tiger Lily Girl”. I’m very excited to be headed back into the studio. We have some big shows coming up in Nashville, TN and Florence, AL. Then, I’m headed out to the west coast. I’m looking forward to teaming up with other artists this year and playing more big shows as we go along.
