The Catalina - Hindsight
The Catalina is a band from Minneapolis and they create their sound by infusing traditional synth rock with strong pop sensibilities. We have previously taken a look at The Catalina, featuring their track “Love Somebody”, a dreamy synth-pop song from their EP Love Somebody. Today we get the exciting opportunity to once again preview a soon to be released single from this excellent band, titled “Hindsight”; we’ll have a pre-save link below!
“Hindsight” features a very intelligently crafted pop approach; the track starts out with a bit of a minimalist approach that slowly builds into easily recognizable modern synth pop as percussion, guitar and synths begin to flourish. The lyrics add quite a bit of emotional depth to the track, as the singer expresses the desire to “go back” and “rewind” to try to fix things with his significant other, culminating with the line “baby, please come back to me”. Upon listening to this skillful track, it is easy to tell that “Hindsight” stands as an excellent testament to The Catalina’s skill as a band and their ability to consistently release catchy and meaningful music.
