The Jeebs - Be True
The Jeebs are an alternative and psychedelic independent rock band from West Lafayette, Indiana. A newer band on the scene, The Jeebs have been working on demos and recently partnered with Boston-based Plaid Dog Recording to take their music to the next level. Today we take a dive into The Jeebs’ debut single, “Be True”.
Combining traditional psychedelic motifs with modern Indie sensibilities, “Be True” is a magnificent debut single from The Jeebs. The track starts slow and soft, easing its way forward at first but slowly building towards something greater; I love the way in which the lead guitar work seems to guide the track’s overall tone as it builds. “Be True” is truly a complete package of a song, packing intricate melodies and a richly layered backing track into what is truly an excellent debut release.
From what I have gathered about The Jeebs through “Be True”, these guys have the chance to be huge. This group’s combination of 60’s, 70’s and contemporary Indie/psych sounds is tantalizing and distinctive and they have honed a sound that is truly their own.
