Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps - Heart's On Fire
Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps is the solo act created by musician Tom Tikka. Through the years, Tikka has been a part of several bands, including Carmen Gray and The Impersonators and returned to his solo work in 2020, using the Missing Hubcaps moniker. Today we take a quick listen to “Heart’s On Fire”, the latest great single from Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps.
“Heart’s On Fire” is in some ways a reflective song and in others, a sign that Tikka still has plenty of life left to live. Lyrically, the track reflects on Tikka’s friends and some of their goals, covering where many of them ended up in life. All throughout, Tikka declares that his heart is still “on fire” and that his passion for life will not stop; despite the fact that he and his friends are all getting older, Tikka still refuses to get old. To me, this track sounds like what the 80’s would sound like if they were happening today, full of similar music techniques and even similar lyrical themes but modernized in its sound - something that I truly enjoy on a personal level.
Through listening to “Heart’s On Fire”, I myself found something I truly liked; I hope I still have the passion and drive that Tom Tikka has when I get to his age!
