Tribal Seeds - Live: The 2020 Sessions
Tribal Seeds are a rock-reggae band based in San Diego, California. Finding influence in bands like Steel Pulse and Aswad, this group approaches their music differently from many other bands in the reggae genre, carving out their own distinctive and enjoyable sound. Today we take a listen to Live: The 2020 Sessions, the new live album from Tribal Seeds, which was recorded early on during the COVID-19 pandemic in a private venue with no audience.
Live: The 2020 Sessions is an hour and three-minute music experience. Throughout each track on the album, it is easy to get a strong sense of the expert musicianship that the members of Tribal Seeds bring to the table as their music shifts through many tones and energy levels to bring a great experience. One thing I always like about live music is how certain instruments can stand out compared to their album versions; the album is mixed extremely well with each instrument still being noticeable yet also hitting slightly different, like the excellent bass performance really filling the room throughout all of the songs. Some of my favorite tracks from this live performance include “Down Bad Vibes”, “Tempest” and “Gunsmoke”, but like any good live setlist, this performance has clearly been curated for the best listening experience so I recommend listening to all of the tracks in order!
Live: The 2020 Sessions gives us great live versions of some of the best Tribal Seeds songs this awesome group has to offer; these guys bring a lot of fun flavor to their music and this live performance really lets that shine through. Ultimately, listening to these life-filled live tracks have made me long for the days where going to concerts was the norm and something we could all do as a normal way to enjoy ourselves; here’s to hoping we are through the COVID-19 pandemic sooner than later so we can check bands like Tribal Seeds out in person again!
