Ty Bru - State of reMind
Ty Bru is an independent musician out of Asheboro, North Carolina. A well-traveled artist with an evolving sound, Bru is always doing something exciting with his music. We have previously checked out two of Ty Bru’s tracks - “Like It Used To” and “C.A.M. Memories Made It Better” and both times we also interviewed The Bru himself; today we take a listen to Bru’s single, “State of reMind”.
“State of reMind” has an oldschool hip-hop vibe to it but also features Ty Bru’s own unique brand of hip-hop flair that serves to separate it from songs that have come before. In addition to Bru’s performance on the track, it also features OC from NC and Sadat X, as well as production by Westtopher; the two guest performers shine right along with Bru and each of their verses features some excellent bars that highlight each individual’s style and Westtopher’s production helps everything hit just right. I enjoy this song a lot because it not only showcases Ty Bru’s own skillset extremely well but also shows his good taste in choosing musical partners for collab tracks like this one.
Ty Bru has definitely become a favorite of this site and it is always good to hear from this awesome artist - especially when it is in the form of a track like “State of reMind”!
