Cona is a music artist who got her start performing in her church’s choir and show chorus, continuing into high school talent shows and eventually performing in professional theater. Citing artists like TLC, Missy Elliott, and The Jacksons as her influences, Cona combines elements of these influences with her skillset, creating a sound of her own. Today we take a look at Cona’s track “Watcha Say (Bail My Heart)”.
“Watcha Say (Bail My Heart)” features a relatively minimalist approach to its instrumental track which sets the table well for Cona’s vocals; the production is also clean and the instrumental track as a whole combines perfectly with Cona’s vocals. Vocally, Cona shines throughout the track, taking an emotive approach that helps the listener feel the words that Cona is singing; the vocal melody is very catchy and left me feeling as though the song deserves to be played on pop radio along with the stars Cona idolizes.
“Watcha Say (Bail My Heart)” is a great song that shows off a lot of the passion that goes into Cona’s music, both vocally and lyrically. In addition to her music work, Cona also performs philanthropic work in her community and is involved in both educational experiences and scholarship opportunities which I think indicates what kind of person Cona is.
