ByTheKnife - Revenge
ByTheKnife is a metal band created by Terry Lovejoy. Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, Lovejoy liked to listen to some legendary metal bands like Slayer, Sepultura, Megadeth and Pantera, though he would later also be influenced by the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Lovejoy’s goal in music is to make music he enjoys with lyrics about his own life. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on ByTheKnife’s single, “Revenge”!
“Revenge” is an in-your-face and unapologetic metal song. Throughout the song, the lead guitar is absolutely enthralling, providing both notable riffage and some remarkable, if brief, solo work as well. In addition, the guitar further serves as a great accent to the vocals throughout different points in the song with my favorite moment coming just as the song ends with both the heavy-hitting vocals and guitar coming to a climax simultaneously. The growly vocals are absolutely on-point and feature a raw, personal kind of aggressive energy that I found to be extremely appealing and authentic, really standing as a highlight.
I am quite impressed with what ByTheKnife brings to the table and “Revenge” is a bone-rattling song that will leave you wanting to hear more from this band.
