Drew Ramz - Wasted Away ft. Alex Scott
Drew Ramz is a rapper and singer who is currently based out of Charleston, South Carolina. Ramz finds inspiration for his music across a variety of genres and is a multitalented performer. Ramz took a year off from music while serving in the air force but he has been working on new music since November of 2019 and plans to release new tracks very soon. One of these new songs is titled “Wasted Away”, featuring his longtime fried Alex Scott, which will release on August 21st.
Coming in at three minutes and twenty-two seconds, the first thing that caught my ear about “Wasted Away” was whistling melody at the start of the track; this served as a wonderful teaser of what is in store because the entire song is exceptionally catchy. Instrumentally, the song does a great job of smoothly bouncing which suits the vocal performances well. The homage to Jimmy Buffet with the borrowed line about being “wasted away again in Margaritaville” does a great job of cluing the listener in on what type of lyrical vibe Ramz and Scott were going for - “Wasted Away” is a story about getting drunk and having good times.
“Wasted Away” takes us through some of the fun times Drew Ramz and Alex Scott have had together, but more importantly it shows us just how in-sync these two are when they put their talents together. It is definitely an excellent track to take us through the rest of the summer season, serving as a toast to good vibes and fun times. “Wasted Away” is due out on August 21st, so be on the lookout!
