Introducing Derric Gobourne Jr.
Derric Gobourne Jr. is a twenty-one year old self-taught musician who plays both the bass and keyboard. In addition to being a talented instrumentalist, Gobourne also sings, dances, raps, produces and is a choreographer. Today we are excited to offer up an introduction to Derric Gobourne Jr. and his music!
Songs like "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" and "Call You Tonight" show off an emotive side of Derric Gobourne Jr. while both tracks also saw charting success. Another song of note is "Make Time from Love", which featured over thirty artists from across the globe and raised money for abused and neglected children; I think this truly shows us the kind of person Gobourne Jr. is. Gobourne Jr.’s album, Oh What Fun also achieved a great deal of success in Japan, peaking at number six on their iTunes charts while his rendition of “Jingle Bells” from the album saw charting success in Kyrgyzstan and Taiwan. Perhaps my favorite track is Gobourne Jr.’s 2021 release, “Constant Thing”, which features Tazia and Gaea Labelle; this song is so full of rich, enjoyable textures and offers up a phenomenal overall vibe. Through his body of work, it is clear that Derric Gobourne Jr. offers a lot within his music and there is plenty to enjoy!
