PostmodernGypsies - Ages
PostmodernGypsies is a father and son jazz duo based in St. Louis, Missouri. Fred Hilligardt and his son Adam Hilligardt are the artists behind this group and they write their own original songs within the Jazz and Contemporary Jazz genres. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on PostmodernGypsies’ song, “Ages”!
“Ages” is a peaceful Contemporary Jazz piece. Incredibly smooth and textured, this song offers a very pleasant listening experience from start to finish. Indeed, this song is easily accessible for both Jazz enthusiasts and more casual listeners; each element that goes into this song contributes to overall crisp, clean melodies that felt quite refreshing. If I had to pick a favorite part about this song, it would be the rich bassline performed by Adam Hilligardt as it carries the rhythm along impressively.
Throughout the years, St. Louis has been home to some very deep and soulful music and I think that PostmodernGypsies and their take on Jazz have made a powerful addition of something great and colorful to the tapestry of that city.
