I really have a strong appreciation for the smoothness in Donovan’s delivery throughout the track, an element that truly fits with the famous line about being “smooth as Tennessee Whiskey”. Overall, I believe Donovan’s cover of this legendary song is just as great as both the original and the Chris Stapleton versions, showing us Lynne Taylor Donovan’s star power.
