Matty Marz is an innovative pop artist and producer based in New York. Presenting us with a sound that has elements of classic rock, bubblegum pop, funk and electronic, Matty Marz really brings something special to the table. We have previously covered this unique artist and his track “Mine!” and today we dive into another of Marz’s exciting singles, “Nu Eyes”.
“Nu Eyes” is a tour of force from Matty Marz. From front to back, “Nu Eyes” is overflowing with incredible melodic structure, both in the track’s vocal melody and in the instrumental part of the song - seriously, this song is an earworm in the best ways. The track’s arrangement utilizes a familiar pop structure but it is what Matty Marz does with this that makes it special; quite simply, those who say rock is head have not heard music like this. This track reminds me of a perfect fusion between late 00’s pop rock and the current pop rock you can find on the radio and this kind of sound has huge potential.
After reviewing both “Nu Eyes” and “Mine!” from Matty Marz, it is hard for me to believe this talented artist has not made it big yet - so keep an eye out for when he breaks through to the mainstream.
