See Your Shadow is a musical creation entity based in Phoenix Arizona and run by Michael Coleman - AKA the The Metropolitan Cowboy. Originally launched in Columbus, Ohio, See Your Shadow was named after the fact that it’s creator Michael Coleman was born on Groundhog Day. Today we’re going to be taking a listen to this projects’ newest release “I Know My Worth.”
“I Know My Worth” starts off with a banjo and vocals immediately chiming “I know my worth”. This song is about insecurities and realizing that you need to know your worth no matter what society or your insecurities make you believe, truly a powerful and relatable message that I feel was conveyed in a stellar way. Combining a hip-hop drum and beat with the banjo makes for a very interesting instrumental combination, driving the track in a really fresh way. This piece is painfully relatable as we can all understand how it is to be overwhelmed with stress and knowing in day-to-day life you aren’t being treated how you deserve and people aren’t realizing how worthy you are.
In the end, “I Know My Worth” is a great song to get you pumped up or to realize your potential and - with running the risk of sounding redundant - your worth.
