Sentimental - Bring It Come
Sentimental, whose real name is Shamarie Jahnoy Fiddler, is a Jamaican dancehall deejay, singer and songwriter. Sentimental is from the parish of St. Elizabeth and infuses a unique energy into each and every song released. Today we take a listen to one of Sentimental’s excellent songs, the sensual “Bring It Come”.
“Bring It Come” is a sensual song with a lot of swagger in its overall musical presentation. Vocally, the melody flows incredibly well throughout the song and really develops the song’s energy. The vocals and the song’s beat play off of one another extremely well, which is something I find to be enjoyable about dancehall music as a whole, and this interplay in “Bring It Come” is superb and truly stands out. Production on the track is also exceptional and the way that the song is mixed capitalizes on all positive aspects of the vocals and the beat, bringing the song together in a truly special way.
In the end, “Bring It Come” is a song with a lot of energy and passion mixed into it. Sentimental’s stylistic choices stand out strikingly well on the song and give us good insight into the artist’s preferences and style; “Bring It Come” certainly stands out as an excellent dancehall track from a great artist.
