Shortcut 2 Infinity - I Know
Shortcut 2 Infinity is a power-rock band from Switzerland. Based in Solothurn, the Swiss capital of rock music, the aims to play “powerful street rock at its finest, at its edgiest, at its most raw”, something that they certainly succeed in doing. Today we take a look at Shortcut 2 Infinity’s debut studio single, a powerful track called “I Know”.
The song kicks off with a quick shout of “I know!” and never lets off of the gas pedal from there. Vocally, the melody is catchy and energetic, delivering an excellent performance overall while the singer takes us through an admission of knowing his “baby” deserves better while likening himself to Jekyll and Hyde. Instrumental-wise, the performance is also stellar throughout “I Know”; the percussion and bass add texture to the sound and drive the rhythm in a great way while the lead guitar carries the instrumental track, culminating in a quick but exceptional guitar solo at the 2:40 mark. Overall, “I Know” combines aspects of hard rock, metal and punk to create a truly unique take on power-rock, full of tasteful melody and gritty energy that hits home in all the right places.
