Sleepy Dog - 21 Mutts
While it’s a song that’s already been released, Sleepy Dog has released a new music video for his song “21 Mutts.” I couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity to write about Sleepy Dog, so I’m taking that opportunity now.
Sleepy Dog is a band from Boone, North Carolina that features the math-rocky emo guitar sound I’ve come to love, combining them with a signature voice that cannot be confused with anyone else. I’ve been following this band for a few years and I’m always excited to hear a new release. Sleepy Dog always exerts this DIY energy in the music and especially in music videos. It’s a charm that becomes infectious, by the end of the song I can’t help but smile and bob my head. It was the first impression I was left with after watching the “Space Cadet” music video where we see the singer pour maple syrup on corn dogs and jam out to his own song. I knew when I watched that music video I was really going to love what was to come from this band.
